Last year, we made the difficult decision to sell our little farm.
It wasn't because we had stopped dreaming about a slower life or because we no longer wanted gardens, chickens, and dirt-covered kids running barefoot through the grass. In many ways, those dreams had only grown bigger.
So we took a leap of faith. We sold what we had and began again.
Today, we're in the middle of building our family's forever farm from the ground up. Right now, it doesn't look like much. There are plans on paper, dreams in our hearts, and a piece of land waiting to become home. Some days it feels exciting. Other days it feels overwhelming. Most days, it's a little bit of both.
But I've realized something during this season: the most meaningful parts of our story aren't waiting at the finish line.
They're happening here.
In the uncertainty.
In the hard work.
In the dreaming.
In the becoming.
Maybe that's why I love photography the way I do.
So many families think they need to wait for the next season. The finished house. The calmer schedule. The easier stage of parenting. The moment when everything finally comes together. But life doesn't happen after those things.
It happens right now. The messy middle. The growing years.
The ordinary days we'll someday wish we could revisit.
Our farm isn't finished yet, but neither are we.
And maybe that's the beauty of it all.
Thank you for following along as we build this little dream from the ground up. I can't wait to share the gardens, the animals, the projects, and all the adventures still to come.
For now, we're simply tending the roots.
